9 Restaurants Locals Love in Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville has become well known for its restaurants. Here’s my list of 9 restaurants that locals love.

Clark’s Fish Camp

via Wide Open Eats

The food is good, but the decor is out of this world! Don’t be shocked when friends and family ask you where you were! They have a beautiful dock over a lake with outdoor seating.
“Clarks Fish Camp is a unique and rustic seafood restaurant nestled into the riverbank of the Julington Creek, a tributary of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. Clark's is known for its Southern size portions, fresh seafood, and family-friendly atmosphere which is home to the largest public taxidermy collection in the United States. During your visit you can arrive by car or boat and enjoy our eclectic decor of driftwood carvings, collection of antique fishplates, and other local fishing artifacts all while enjoying the panoramic views of the tranquil waterfront,” Their website says.

El Agave Restaurant

Voted the best Mexican street food in town a few years in a row!
So authentic, loaded with onions and cilantro.
The Birria tacos (the ones you dip) are addictive!
Ample outdoor seating is available. They have a food truck too :)

We're from Mexico , so we know how make a real good TACOS.

River & Post

The most instagrammable rooftop view in the city! Did I mention the food is good too? At the corner of Riverside Avenue & Post Street, you'll find an exciting restaurant concept with a rooftop lounge overlooking downtown Jacksonville that offers a view straight down the gorgeous St. Johns River, past the neon glow of the stadium, and on up to Dames Point. You'll enjoy an atmosphere like no other and a culinary experience that will make you, well, yell from the rooftops.
Local Tip: Make reservations ahead of time.

Southern Grounds

Southern Ground’s food is just as instagrammable as the scenery in Neptune Beach. A place you definitely want to see and be seen. Feel free to bring your furry friends too.

“We don't just stop at coffee; come enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner made with organic, sustainable ingredients, or a glass of wine and a cheeseboard and live music on Friday & Saturday nights at our Neptune Beach courtyard under the trees just steps from the beach. A coffee shop is more than a restaurant: it's a community hub,” Their website says.

There are 4 locations in town, but my favorite is the one at Neptune Beach.

Plan ahead, because it’s always packed! They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but it’s still packed. The wait is at least an hour. Best known for their tacos, queso, and tequila.

Not only do they have indoor seating and a patio, but they also have traditional Japanese-style seating too. Great experience for a date night. An elegant space with a patio, plus specialty rolls, sashimi & kitchen dishes like katsu & teriyaki.
